Ingredients
  • 1 bag (800 g) tater tots/potato barrels/tasti taters
  • 2 cups (166 g) shredded cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 breakfast sausages or slices bacon
  • 2 cups (500 ml) hollandaise sauce
  • Butter or oil for greasing

While homemade sauce will elevate your meal, packet hollandaise is as easy as it is tasty and will leave those sharing your meal just as satisfied.

Directions
  1. Make the hollandaise sauce as per directions and set aside while keeping warm.
PRO TIP: Wrap a tea towel around the container holding the warm sauce and cover.
  2. Remove some of your cooking grids and replace them with the griddle accessory, you can also leave the grids and place an oven-safe frying pan onto the cooking grids, like this cast iron frying pan. Preheat the barbecue to 425°F (218°C) setting all burners to low/medium-low.
  3. Shred your cheese and then line a baking tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Spread the potatoes out in a single layer onto the lined baking tray.
  4. Place the tray with the tater tots onto the cooking grids and close the lid. Bake them for about 10 minutes and then flip. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Before you close the lid, toss your bacon or sausages onto the griddle to start cooking.
  5. Check on your bacon or sausage after 3 to 5 minutes and flip as needed. Because you will be opening and closing the lid, you may need to extend the baking time of the potatoes.
  6. Once the sausage or bacon is done, move them to the warming rack. Grease the griddle or frying pan with some extra butter or oil and crack in 4 eggs. Season them to taste and cook them to your desired doneness.
  7. Remove everything from the grill and divide the cheesy tater tots between your plates. Top them with hollandaise, then the fried egg (or the other way around). Add the sausage or bacon and serve.

Whether it’s a holiday breakfast, brunch with the besties, or something that both kids and adults will love, this Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl Recipe will definitely look as good as it tastes.
