Q: Where can I find the user manual for my device?

Q: Why can't the app find the device during the setup process?

If you receive the "No devices found" message during the setup process, try the following:

  • Press the alarm/Bluetooth mode button - Hold the Alarm / Bluetooth button on the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE device for 2 seconds to turn on Bluetooth®. The Bluetooth® icon will flash when the thermometer is in pairing mode.
  • Ensure the thermometer device is turned on - Ensure that the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE device is turned on. If your device has been turned on for more than 5 minutes, turn it off and on again to restart Bluetooth pairing mode.
  • Move the device within range - Ensure that the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE device is within the range of your smart device, typically within 50(m) meters or 60(‘) feet.
  • Enable Bluetooth connection – Turn on Bluetooth on your device and ensure Bluetooth connection is enabled for the app in your device settings.
Q: Why is Bluetooth required to connect my device?

A Bluetooth connection is required when setting up the device for the first (onboarding process) and for the communication between the app and your Napoleon ACCU-PROBE device. Additionally, Google requires location services enabled for any Android app connecting to a Bluetooth Low Energy device (BLE).

Q: Why is my device not staying connected or appearing "Offline"?

If you are experiencing issues with your device losing connection or the device not being responsive to control changes, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Try to locate cause of frequency interference or physical obstruction.
  • Bring Smart device back within range of the thermometer (50 m/160‘) or line of sight.
  • Toggle the thermometer unit off & on.
  • Force quit the app and reopen it.
Q: Do I always need to be connected to both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when using the device?

Yes, Bluetooth connection is always required when using the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE device with the app. While the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE does not require Wi-fi connections for operation, you need access to the internet to download the app on the app stores.

Q: When using the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE 2.0 app, what is the operating range?

The Napoleon ACCU-PROBE device is required to be within 50(m) meters or 60(‘) feet of your smart device.

Q: What permissions does the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE 2.0 app request?
  • Push notifications - The Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app uses push notifications to keep you in-the-know about when an event is triggered on your Napoleon device. This can range from a set temperature being reached to a timer countdown ending.
  • Bluetooth access - Allows the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app to connect to your device when setting up. Bluetooth is used beyond the set-up process to communicate between your device and the app.
  • Location services - Enabling Location Services is a requirement from Google for any Android app connecting to a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device. Rest assured that our app does not collect or use your location at all. We recommend setting your permission level to “Allow only while using this app.”
Q: What are push notifications and how do I enable/disable them?

A push notification is a message that pops up on your phone, even when the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app is minimized. The Napoleon ACCU-PROBE 2.0 app uses these to keep you in the know when an event is triggered on your Napoleon device- anything from a set temperature being reached to a timer countdown ending. While it is recommended that you keep notifications on (we only send device related notifications), you may turn them off in the main settings of your smartphone. Keep in mind, you will still receive these notifications within the app.

Q: What personal data is collected and how is it used?

Napoleon only collects the minimum amount of data required to enable device functionality and to provide continuous product improvements. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information.

Q: How do I update the app to the latest software version?

To update the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE 2.0 app, go to the Google Play Store or Apple app store to download and install the update.

Q: How do you download the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE 2.0 app?

To download the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app, go to the Google Play store (Android devices) or the Apple app store (iOS devices) on your smartphone and search for the app. Then, download the app.

Q: How much data does the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app use?

The Napoleon ACCU-PROBE 2.0 app uses little to no data, so it should not be a concern. It is a Bluetooth only enabled app and requires no internet connection to function. Internet connection is required only when downloading and installing the app.

Q: How much battery does the app use?

The app will consume a small amount of power when compared with other popular apps.

Q: Can I use the app in a different country?

The Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app can be used in most countries to control and monitor the device remotely.

Q: How do I remove a device from my app?

Press on the "Gear" icon on the bottom right of the device app interface. Then select Remove Device.

Note: this will remove the device from your app and erase any settings that were saved on it.

Q: How do I view my probe temperatures on the app?
  • Ensure thermometer is turned on first; or turn thermometer off and on.
  • Ensure the thermometer is connected to the app via Bluetooth.
  • Insert the probe plug into one of the four sockets behind the unit. Make sure the probe is firmly inserted
Q: How do I change between Fahrenheit and Celsius?

To change temperature units, press the "Gear" icon on the bottom right of the Napoleon ACCU-PROBE app. In the General section, select °C or °F.

Note: Changing the temperature unit in the app does not change the unit on the device. To change the temperature unit ⁰C/⁰F on the ACCU-PROBE thermometer unit, press the "R" icon for 2 seconds.
