Energy Ratings, Explained!
It takes a lot of energy to feel comfortable in your home, especially while battling our chilly winters and hot, sticky summers. Choosing a heating or cooling system for your home with a high energy rating, ensures that your unit is getting your home to the optimal temperature as efficiently as possible.
Select Napoleon Heating and Cooling products are Energy Star Rated; when a product achieves an Energy Star Rating, it confirms the product meets strict efficiency standards and has earned the Energy Star badge. These strict energy efficiency standards are set by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to encourage reductions in harmful greenhouse gases. Not only will the Earth thank you for choosing an Energy Star Rated product, but your wallet will too.

Energy performance can also be measured using:
Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE):
This ratio measures the percent of heat produced for every dollar of fuel consumed. A high AFUE rating means that you can expect lower fuel costs to run your furnace because the furnace is extremely efficient in fuel consumption.
Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER):
A ratio of cooling output divided by the energy it consumes. A high SEER rating indicates the efficiency and energy performance of your air conditioner or heat pump, which equates to a lower environmental impact and lower energy bills for the household.
Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF):
A ratio of heat output to the electricity used by your unit, HSPF is used to measure the efficiency of the heating component of your heat pump or furnace. A heating system with a HSPF rating will help deliver savings on your electricity bills.
