- ⅛ tsp. nutmeg
- ⅛ tsp. clove
- ⅔ cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (52 g) light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (118 ml) neutral flavored oil

- 1 large egg yolk, room temperature
- 2 tsp. vanilla bean paste
- ½ cup (118 ml) fresh orange juice, or 1 orange, juiced
- ½ cup (118 ml) buttermilk
Frosting
- 1 brick (227 g) cream cheese, room temperature
- ¼ cup (57 g) butter, room temperature
- 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla, or 1 bean scraped
- Whipping cream
- Place a baking stone onto your barbecue and preheat your barbecue to 350°F (177°C) preparing to use indirect heat.
- Prepare your cake pans, a single bundt, two 8-inch (20 cm) circles or squares, or up to four 6-inch (15 cm) circles. Spray and lay down the parchment, then set aside.
- Sift together the dry ingredients – the flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and clove.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugars, oil, vanilla, and honey using an electric mixer, until its thick, light, and fluffy. Lower the mixer speed and stream in the juice and the buttermilk. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the mixture, and combine until just smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and then bake for around 45 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Remove from the barbecue and cool completely.
- To make the frosting, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Incorporate the whipping cream one tablespoon at a time, beating the whole mixture to soft peaks.
- Decorate your cake in a festive manner and serve.
