2 lbs.
ground beef – preferably medium, not lean
2 tbsp.
grated onion
1 clove
grated garlic
Salt to taste
Freshly ground pepper to taste
Classic - Handy Dad Burger:
Sesame seed buns
2 hamburger patties
Tomato
Bacon
Onion
Pickles
Cheese
Lettuce
Unique - Daring Dad Burger:
Artisan egg buns
Spicy chili seasoning
1 hamburger patty
Creamy coleslaw
Barbecue potato chips
Red onion
Green olives
Loosey-Juicy - Cheesy Dad Burger:
Thick cut sourdough bread
1 hamburger patty
2 squares of processed cheese
Tomato
Lettuce
Pickles
Aioli/mayo
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Use the Napoleon Burger Press to make patties. For the Loosey-Juicy burger, use the interior divot in the burger press to create a cavity and fill it with processed cheese – fill it! Then seal the patty with another small layer of meat and press down using the full burger press. – check out this blog post for how to use the burger press.
- Place all of the patties onto a platter lined with waxed paper and place the meat into the fridge to chill for up to 30 minutes or overnight.
- Once ready to cook your Father’s Day burgers, preheat the grill to about 400°F – medium-high. Season the burgers lightly with a little more salt and pepper. Unless you’re making Daring Dad Burgers, then season with spicy chili seasoning.
- Grill the burgers over direct heat for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, being careful of flareups. They’re done when an instant-read thermometer reaches 165°F. Consider buttering and grilling or frying the buns before dressing the burgers too.
- Dress the burgers with the toppings appropriate to your Father’s Day Burger of choice.
**To make fries preheat your bottom burners to 450°F – as per the package directions – and place your favorite fries into the Napoleon Rotisserie Basket. Cook for 20 to 30 minutes, until the fries are nice and crispy.
Is your father comfortable with his BBQ and power tools? The Classic – Handy Dad Burger is full of classic toppings and flavors like pickles, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Don’t forget to serve this with a heap of French fries and an ice cold beer.
For the father that loves unique flavors, travel, and adventure try the Daring Dad Burger. Spicy but nicey and topped with creamy coleslaw, red onion, and crunchy BBQ chips, the Daring Dad Burger will fulfill your father’s wildest adventuring dreams.
However, if your Dad is the kind of guy whose jokes make you groan, whose puns make you pivot and go the other way, then the Loosey-Juicy is the perfect burger for the Cheesy Dad. On first blush, this burger looks boring, but that is where you are wrong. One bite into this bodacious burger and your mouth will be overrun with mountains of molten cheese. Try serving with garlic-parm fries.
